This year’s Laughlin Veteran’s Festival will be held at the Laughlin Festival Lot between the River Palms and the Golden Nugget in Laughlin, Nevada, November 8-10. The city-wide event offers a weekend full of entertainment with free admission.
There will be a gun and ammo show, vendor’s village with a Kids Zone and DJ entertainment throughout the weekend in a family-friendly atmosphere. There will also be veteran tributes, exhibits and interactive displays, a memorial Tribute Wall and live link up to military bases overseas.
New for this year’s event, festival organizers are excited to announce that portions of the festival will be webcast on the event website.
2013 marks the 2nd annual event to honor military veterans and active-duty personnel. The celebration gets started on Friday evening with $1 beers at the welcome party. The Rogue Warrior Championship weigh-in and meet and greet with the Rogue Warrior himself, Dick Marcinko, and the Rogue Angels. The evening will also feature a Workout Warriors military fitness competition, MMA fighters and plenty of live music, including LA Guns.
Saturday will feature the Motorcycle Show N’ Shine, a motorcycle parade and more celebrity meet and greets. The Gold Angels Motorcycle Drill Team will give demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday. Championing the use of safe, precise bike handling, the team travels the country advancing public awareness of motorcycles through fun, staged demonstrations.
On Saturday evening, the featured concert band for the Veteran’s Festival is Madison Rising. Madison Rising brings great rock music back to the forefront of popular culture. With songs ranging from the guitar heavy “Right to Bear,” to the hauntingly epic sounds of “Honk if You Want Peace,” to the beautiful violins of “Hallowed Ground,” the show will certainly not disappoint.
Sunday events begin with a prayer service and veterans will be honored with a Flotilla of Flowers at the Veteran’s Memorial Ceremony.
The festival will also include a Charity Poker Run on Sunday, November 10, with all proceeds to benefit Nevada and Arizona Veteran’s Charities such as Nevada Veteran’s Foundation, Fisher House, Military Assistance Mission and United for Change. There is a $10 entry fee and cash prizes for the highest and lowest hands.
