80 Year Old Motorcycling Mama Can’t Wait to Get Back on Her Bike
Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorney: On Betty Price’s wall there hangs a sign—”When you’re over the hill, you pick up speed”. These are precisely the words that this 80-year-old lives by and she embodies everything we all hope we will be in our twilight years. Betty has been a motorcycling mama (her own words) since she was a teenager and her two-wheeled travels have taken her far around the world. She has ridden a motorcycle in every state, except Delaware and Hawaii. There are pictures on her wall of her standing next to her bike in the frozen tundra of Alaska and others of her with her toes in the hot sands of Florida. She has even ridden a motorcycle in Japan.
Betty was born to feel the wind in her hair and was only a teenager when she saved up enough money to buy her first motorcycle, much to her parents’ dismay. She has been riding motorcycles ever since.
Yet her motorcycling life hasn’t been completely carefree. Her husband died leaving her to raise four young children. She struggled as a single mom yet accomplished many great things. She started a family lawn mowing business and paid her kids wages. The challenges continued after one of her sons died and she discovered she had cancer. After she battled cancer, her doctors told her that she would never ride again, but she proved them wrong. Now, at 80-years-old, she faces another obstacle. She twisted her foot while walking down the steps and fractured her left foot. She walks in a large walking boot and can’t ride her motorcycle, at least until mid-summer. Yet Betty vows to be back on her bike as soon as the walking boot is off—and by the look of things, no one doubts her this time.
Betty, we are looking forward to hearing about you getting back on your bike!

Wow! I’m “only” 68 years young! These people who are my “seniors” ARE my heroes! After over 100 hospitalizations with medical problems, I strive to continue riding every day. Hope to ride well into my future years also! God Bless!
