In October, Marc Miller was seriously injured in a Baltimore motorcycle accident. His injuries included a badly damaged foot that had been dragged along the pavement. This injury required advanced surgeries at John Hopkins hospital and an extensive rehabilitation period. In addition, doctors decided to use a more “experimental” therapy and one that is gaining popularity for treating serious skin wounds after motorcycle accidents—leeches.
Rolling Thunder is quite an event. This year (2010) was my second year in attendance and I am amazed at how much this ride effects me. To see the number of motorcyclists that come out in support of this great cause gives me goose bumps – an estimated 900 000 motorcyclists attend. And if you have not been to this event, you are missing one of the best in the Nation. I was there with the BAM team (Free Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists) which consisted of Roz and I and with Carmella Brown and Lisa Petrocelli of the infamous New York Rider Magazine. Lisa Petrocelli has an amazing way with words so I am sharing with you the article she wrote about this past weekends extraordinary event. And if you don’t have Rolling Thunder, Ride to the Wall, 2011 on your events calendar for next year, you are missing out.
Today I am packing. Tomorrow at 7:00AM I will be flying Virgin America (one of only a cple direct flights from LA to Washington, DC) for Rolling Thunder’s Ride to the Wall, motorcycle memorial ride. I will be rendezvousing with three incredible ladies. Lisa Petrocelli and Carmella Brown from New York Rider Magazine and Roz (she only has one name and only needs one name). We will be stationed with Rolling Thunder at the Hyatt Crystal City and will have a BAM, Free Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcycles, set-up in the lobby. We will also be set-up at the Harley Davidson of Washington, DC on Saturday May 29th which is where everyone will be so come on by the BAM booth.
