Deadly Weekend for California Motorcyclists

Sunny skies and scenic coastlines make California the ideal playground for motorcyclists. California bikers experience an incredible sense of freedom while cruising on the open road. Unfortunately, as many California motorcyclists know, this freedom may come with a high price. Due to a motorcycle’s limited physical protection and stability, CA motorcycle accidents often result in serious physical injury or death. This past weekend proved to be a deadly weekend for three CA motorcyclists.

Motorcycle Crash News
Motorcycle Personal Injury Lawyers; It’s early Sunday AM and I am reviewing what’s coming down the news wire for the weekend. It’s interesting to see what is causing our fellow bikers to go down. It’s sad when the motorcycle accident is caused by someone else not paying attention and definitely sad and disappointing when it was caused by the motorcycle rider themselves. A study by the Highway Loss Data Institute shows that the courses designed to make motorcyclists safer are not resulting in a lower motorcycle crash rate.

Motorcycle Crashes News And Events
The big motorcycle event in California happening this weekend is the Red Bull US Grand Prix in Monterey, CA. BAM, Free Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists, a volunteer program for bikers helping bikers, will be set up there to sign up volunteers. This is a great program sponsored by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys, Brown, Koro & Romag, LLP. The more members BAM has the better the program can help a stranded motorcyclists. It is emergency roadside and legal assistance. We have had some people call to get free gas or to get rides from hotels to their homes hundreds of miles away. When we get a call from a BAM member and they are stuck on the side of the road, we start calling fellow bikers who may be at work, to come and help in an emergency situation. A ride from a Las Vegas casino to your home in Arkansas because you gambled away your money, is not an emergency.

The Pink Heals Tour
When you travel to biker events all year, and party like we do, sometimes you have a trip that although full of excitement, not the type of excitement you would like. Such was our trip to Old Forge and Lake George. This month I could have of reported on our drinking, fighting, getting thrown out of our hotel, then making up, only to get pinched by the cops or about Joe getting hooked (yet again) while fishing on the dock at Clarks Beach Motel- this time by Kirk V., after they fished for an hour and only caught a tie-dye shirt; which, by the way, Kirk’s wife Tracy and I thought was funny as hell… Joe hooked in the hair while Kirk was reeling him in (Oh the insanity!)
