According to the Tucson Citizen, motorcyclists who attend the University of Arizona may have a tough time finding adequate parking. While Arizona motorcyclists can park nearly anywhere in the state, they are simply “not welcome” in parking structures at the University of Arizona. In fact, a sign that reads, “NO Motorcycles” is visible throughout the parking structures of the famed university–But why?
Riding a motorcycle in Arizona can be a wonderfully economic and environmentally wise choice for many students. After all, motorcycles use less gas and take up fewer parking spaces than sport utility vehicles, automobiles, and pickup trucks. In addition, they lead to less congestion on freeways, highways, and campus roads.

It seems that motorcycles are becoming  more and more popular, and for a variety of reasons; to combat rising fuel costs, and ease of traveling on congested freeways and highways to name a only a few. With this popularity insurance companies are expanding their marketing to include motorcycle insurance. To date there are some catchy TV commercials, with one saying "Bikes never crash alone".

Summer will soon be upon us, and to motorcyclists that means we’ll be tuning up and polishing our bikes in anticipation of a weekend run or trip to our favorite party spot; some of us will be doing a long distance run, while most of us will only being putting somewhere close to home, but no matter how or where we ride, we need to be prepared for cars and trucks that will not be looking out for us on the freeways and highways in Southern California.
